Before choosing your Antifouling we invite you to make the following relevant comparisons, EU45 versus other brands, be they existing top brands being sold through traditional outlets or new brands being offered across the Internet.
 

QUALITY

With the exception of antifouls designed for use on aluminium or galvanised steel (or the colour solid white) the major active ingredient in Antifouling paint is COPPER OXIDE and the actual quantity of copper in the can is really what will determine the effectiveness of the product.

We are so proud of the fact that our product contains an exceptionally high 45% of copper oxide that we feature this fact in our product name and clearly state it in our Technical Data Sheet.

When comparing antifouling products it is wise to ignore meaningless statements such as “High” / “Maximum Copper Content” or “High Performance” and instead try to establish exactly how much copper the formula contains, in many cases you will not find this easy. Only then can a true comparison be made.

Start your search with the Technical Data Sheet, if the product has an high copper content you may well find the information there, but do not be misled by “% solids”, if the copper content is not published there try to obtain a copy of the “Material Safety Data Sheet”. If the information is not there then look for the SG (Specific Gravity) of the product. Simply, SG is the weight per litre of the finished paint product.

Copper is very heavy, therefore high copper content antifouls have a high SG.
The SG of EU45 is 1.9 per litre which is indicative of a high copper content antifoul.

Typically many other brands have an SG of about 1.4. To reduce the SG of EU45 to 1.4 we would need to remove about 50% of the actual copper content.
